Article on Neighborhood Revitalization

Here is a great article in the Southside Journal on the great Tin Can Tavern, a neighbor of mine over on Morganford.

Some interesting quotes in the article:

"There was really nothing going on when we got down here," Alt said. "When we came down here, probably 80 percent of them were boarded up."
A business association started for the area and the mayor and the local alderman, Joseph Vollmer, D-10th Ward, took an interest in the street, Alt said.

Business is great, Alt said. "It's actually better than what we had expected it to be," he said.

That stretch of Morganford from Arsenal to the train tracks has a lot of potential, and is really a hidden gem in the Towergrove neighborhood.

It is working it's way all the way to Bevo Mill by my house. There are so many little coffee houses, bakeries, and restaraunts. There is even a little resale shop close to Neosho. The new place at Morgan Ford and Utah looks really nice. The Haberdashery will be a nice addition when it opens, and hopefully it will bring more people to the area as it attracts all kinds of business around Halloween due to the costumes. Hopefully it'll keep business up at The Royale!!
